And did I mention the gluten-free pancakes?

Carmen spent the week polishing and perfecting the recipe for gluten-free pancakes, and I got to taste them all!

Now the privilege is yours. On special today at Carmens!

Vegan Eggs

Once again, we offer a vegan dish that makes no apologies.

Vegan eggs make no claim to taste exactly like the real thing but they are great in their own right— ant they look so cool!

A tasty combination of polenta yolks and grits for the whites make these succulent and savory eggs taste treat. On special today at Carmens.

Vegan Eggs

Mock eggs, made from creamy polenta and grits.

Totally vegan, Dude!

American as Cuban Eggs

What’s more perfect for July 4 (weekend) than Cuban Eggs?

Celebrate American wisdom in ending the embargo! In the tastiest way you can!

Riverfest

Riverfront Park today, due to the Riverfest. We are in the middle of the pack, near but not on the river.

Come on down, it will be a fun day!

(Unless you need the Full Carmen’s Experience, in which case head on over to the Café!)

Don’t Worry About The Parade

It happens every year around this time. The Troy Flag Day parade.

It used to be the biggest in the nation – four or five hours worth! That was two hours longer than anyone could enjoy, but it didn’t stop them from sitting in the hot sun, watching.

Nowadays it has thinned out a bit, which makes it all the better. It still clears out the streets, tho, unless you know the tricks to get around.

Carmens is on first Street, and you can just pull up and down first and second with no worries, from the finance bridge to the Congress St., Bridge and beyond. We are still dishing out delicious food, having a grand old time on this beautiful day. See you soon!

Sidewalk at the Café

While Jim & Carm are at the Farmer’s Market, Paula holds things down at the Café.

More shade on Adams Street!

Vine Ripe Tomatoes

She looked all over, but Carmen was not find any truly ripe plum tomatoes. She went with premium ripe-on-the-vine tomatoes plus sweet peppers, cucumbers, garlic & spices.

Guess what? It paid off! Her Andalusian Gazpacho is a work of art!

Available today at the Café

Ebeneezer the Mini-Pig

You see all types here at the Farmers Market.

Up Early Making CocoLoco

Mint Chocolate Chip.

I was going to write “ice cream” but it isn’t— it’s proudly vegan, all coconut based, and smoother and creamier than any ice cream I’ve ever had.

The perfect topper for a sunny summer (almost) brunch!
